Who are We

I first thought about ham radio back when I was using a CB while traveling with a group of friends. Life was always too busy to explore it further. Then, one day, my husband Mike suggested we get our ham‑radio licenses, and I agreed. It’s turned out to be an absolute blast—meeting fellow enthusiasts from coast to coast has made the experience truly rewarding.

During the COVID pandemic, we faced a shortage of testers, so we shifted our work entirely online. To reintroduce face‑to‑face interaction, we scheduled two in‑person testing sessions each month—one on a Thursday and another on a Saturday. While I was training to become a Certified Volunteer Educator (CVE) for W5YI, everything remained virtual, and the program encouraged us to build an online support team as well. The experience turned out to be incredibly rewarding: we connected with many people through Zoom, forged lasting friendships, and cultivated a community where we look out for one another and lend a helping hand whenever needed.
